5 Things To Do This Spring In Nashville

In a short series of wishful thinking brought on by this rainy weather, I'm sharing some things to do in Nashville this spring. Rain or shine, there's no shortage of ways to take advantage of the completely temperamental nice weather and an empty stomach.

1. Pinewood Social: Outdoor Edition

Proprietors of nationally acclaimed Patterson House, Catbird Seat, and Paradise Park have now opened another restaurant concept called Pinewood Social. Though it has already been open for several months to booming success (Reese Witherspoon recently celebrated her birthday at the restaurant's four lane bowling alley), this spring it is set to open a patio complete with bocce ball and a pool + bar.

2. Pedal Tavern

Though I haven't had the pleasure of pedaling this open air booze trolley, I have had the pleasure of catcalling its passengers from the patio of The Southern. It's pretty clear that anyone on this ride is really enjoying the weather. Book it to start from Midtown or Demonbreun, stopping at several bars with drink specials along the way.

3. Nashville Film Festival

Don't be misled by the title - I wouldn't direct you towards anything indoors. From April 18-26, movies will be shown for free in the park across from the Country Music Hall of Fame, with drink specials from 5-6:30. Information on all events relating to the festival can be found here. Also they have an event on 4/20 called "Sunday Funday for Families," which makes me giggle.

4. Savor Nashville

Okay, so this suggestion is a bit pricier than the others - I'm hoping I can live vicariously through someone that will purchase an All Access Pass. I'm keeping my calendar open in case the James Beard nominated celebrity chefs reach out to my refined palette for a professional review. A girl (with wild delusions) can dream. For those of us with slightly smaller budgets, there is an equally attractive brunch option for $35 a ticket. I'm pretty certain brunch is the official meal of Nashville, so all in all - not a bad deal.

5. Country Music Marathon

Kidding, I would never encourage you to run 13 miles in a row - and please don't even mention the full marathon's length in my presence. But if that's your thing, by all means go for it! I will be drinking a mimosa on a patio along the race route and will be more than happy to cheer you on. Sweat on the outside of a champagne glass is my favorite kind.
